Meeting times

Here are the weekly times that our youth group meets. Some time soon, I want to write a short explanation of our youth ministry strategy to make "fully devoted followers of Christ...". For now, here are the basics:

Sunday morning:
Middle School - 8:45 - 9:45 am

Senior High - 8:45 - 9:45 am

Tuesday night:
Middle School Bible study - 7:00 - 8:45 pm

Wednesday night:
Senior High Bible study - 7:00 - 8:45 pm

Monthly Activities: See 12 month calendar

* All Bible studies are held at the church during the school year. In the summer, stay tuned to your e-mail, this blog, and handouts at church to find out where we'll be!!!

It's been a while :)

Hey there youth group people! So, I just realized that the last time I posted was on the West Virginia missions trip last July...that's pretty bad. I am a bad person, and for that, I apologize :)
Now that we got all that apology/ask forgiveness stuff out of the way, I want to give you a reminder about some upcoming activities:

(1) Both the senior high movie night and the middle school bike ride are being postponed until further notice. My guess is that we'll make up for those activities during our midweek programs on Tuesday or Wednesday. In other words, the middle schoolers will probably go on the bike ride on a Tuesday evening in June and the senior highers will watch a movie on a Wedneday evening in June. More info coming soon!

(2) Our annual Shady Maple breakfast to welcome the 5th graders (who will be 6th graders in a few days later) who will be moving into the youth ministry will be taking place on Saturday June 6th. It's always a good time. I always look forward to watching any kid who can mix up a contraption and then drink it with a smile on his/her face (example: milk, ketchup, butter, salt, pepper, chicken...just to name a few :) You don't want to miss it! Look out for a sign up sheet!

(3) Mission trip to Kentucky in July...keep on sending out those support letters!

(4) Hopefully we'll get a bunch of free Phillies' tickets this year for August. I'm on it!

As usual, if you have any questions, give me a call or shoot me an email at bcliff_email@yahoo.com

We Made It!

Hey Everyone, the BBC Youth Missions team has officially moved into our new home for the week here in Gary, West Virginia! The trip started a little rocky with realizing that we had a nail stuck in one of our front tires before we even left the church parking lot, so we had to stop at a tire store in York in hopes of having it repaired. As it turned out, a repair was not possible, so we had to buy a new tire. Thankfully, the problem was identified before we got any further on the trip as any type of tire place open on a Sunday was nearly impossible to find outside PA.

The rest of the trip went great. We arrived at the School for Life at 7:00pm on Sunday evening. We settled in, ate dinner, and even had a chance to meet the family we will be working with all week in the town of Gary, WV. It turned out that the home we are working on is only a 5 minute walk from the facility we are sleeping in! The kids clicked with the little kids in the family right away and the family seemed so thankful for the work we have planned for this week. Our original plan was to paint a family's house and install 2 appliances in the same neighborhood, however, once we got to the home, some of the guys on the trip noticed that the steps leading to the front porch were almost unusable and that a family member needed a ramp in the back of the home. The materials were available at the School for life, so we were able to start 4 big projects: (1) paint the exterior of the home (2) install steps in the front of the house (3) build a ramp to the back porch (4) clean & mow the property.

So, we already had one day at the house and accomplished much more than we had originally planned. In my next post I will upload some pictures and give you some more details about the rest of our plans this week, which include more work at this same house, white-water rafting, and running a 1-day VBS. We hope everyone is doing great at home and we would definitely appreciate all of your prayers throughout the week.

We Still Need Stuff for Creation

We're just about ready to head out to Creation, but we are still looking for a few things before we can pack our bags:

(1) We need a trailer to put all of our luggage into. The church has one, but it is not yet registered under their name, so we can't legally use it.

(2) Just like last year, we are looking for BBC church goers to donate a lot of the food we will eat while we're at Creation in order to reduce the price of the trip. It would be really cool to give all of our Creation-goers a few dollars back at the end of the trip :)

If you're able to help with anything, please let me (Bill) know - bcliff_email@yahoo.com
